MIPS 32 74K - synthesizable 32-bit processor from MIPS

MIPS Technologies has launched its latest 32-bit MIPS 32 74K processor in Taiwan on May 25. This is a major performance leap that this new processor is here to promise to its users.

MIPS 32 74K has a frequency of 1GHz and is designed for high-volume applications such as digital TVs (DTVs), set-top boxes (STBs), and DVD players, highlighted MIPS.

Company vice president of marketing Jack Browne has informed that MIPS 32 74K is the smallest processor (2.5mm squared) in its class of processors. The overall execution performance of this new processor on digital signal processing is more than 60% faster than 24KE family models.
