Kennedy Space Center prepping shuttles for launch again
A pair of 149-foot booster rockets waiting inside the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center.
An external fuel tank will be connected to them next week. Workers will hoist orbiter Discovery into position early next month and, a little over a week later, they'll roll the shuttle out to the launch pad. Atlantis, being readied to fly a rescue mission if need be, is not far behind. NASA plans test flights in May and July before resuming construction of the International Space Station in December.
